The Court makes this determination based on medical and social service evidence provided by medical professionals. As a result, the individual is deemed vulnerable and in need of protection from exploitation, abuse and/or neglect. The Court appoints a legal guardian as a substitute decision maker. The decision-making role bestowed on a guardian by the Court requires the guardian to act with the greatest degree of care and circumspection. As a guardian, DHS, Inc. has established checks and balances to ensure that the best interests of our client are always the exclusive policy.
